DIM SUM @ PING PONG!!!
Sunday, January 27, 2008 at 07:26PM Decided to have a really lazy day today.... so after aerobics, headed out for brunch with my lovely friend Enitan (who has been a really busy bee lately...jet setting to no less than 5 countries in about 2 weeks!!!) As it's the first time we've met this year, it was great to hash out the gossip we've been passing onto to each other in tidbits via telephone..... I also met up with an old high school friend whom I haven't seen in ages......
Anyway, Ping Pong was great.... as it was Sunday, it was quiet and service was fantastic.... I could have stayed in there forever...... here are a few pics from our day.... [Enitan has got her makeup on this time, so she doesn't look half as frightening as she did on carnival day :) (Eni, I know you are reading this; remember, I'm one of your oldest friends and I love you, so you are not allowed to hurt me in anyway or your mum will hear about it....!!!) ]

All gone!!! (I don't think there's any more too add to this image)

BACK ON TRACK
Tuesday, October 30, 2007 at 12:43PM The final wedding show of my year is over (mixed feelings about this.....) the designer wedding show was amaaaaaazing!!!!! ..... I was in awe of everything.....
My stand was right next to the Jasper Conran Bridal stand and guess who was standing right next to me at the show opening on Friday for the launch of his bridal collection on the catwalk ... only the man himself!!!!! I know this sounds so silly but, I just had to gush but at the same time pretend I wasn't and that it's normal for me to hobnob with designers and stars everyday....
seriously, it was a great show because I had a chance to really speak to brides as opposed to allowing them grab a price card!!!..... the brides I spoke to genuinely wanted to get everything sorted and trusted us (exhibitors) to completely offer the absolute best....
I met so many lovely people and companies that I want to share with my brides still doing their search..... there was Paul and Rowan from Scott Dunn, Susan Neville from Susan Neville Bridal Wear, Candy from Candy Anthony (whose dresses stole the show by the way...), expensive but gorgeous food from Mosimann's, Stationary from Chartula and KatKin Rose, Emmy and her lovely bespoke shoes.... the list goes on and on....... for Brides still in doubt, please book your ticket for the february show, come down and soak up the atmosphere and the abundant ideas available ......you really won't regret it because some of these businesses are not main stream and only exhibit at this show or have their own private events and so cater to very exclusive clients.....
and here's a picture of my stand, where i had the best view of the catwalk, and Jane, Enitan and I harrassed and teased the guys whilst their ladies were watching the bridal shows ...lol
QUIET!!!
Tuesday, September 25, 2007 at 04:49PM Currently preparing for the National Wedding Show .....that's why it's a bit quiet over here... well, when i say 'quiet' I mean on the blog front.... it's a different story on ground though....boxes, ribbons, pictures, bags, albums..... It's all systems go at the moment..... everything should be back to 'normal' on Monday next week after the show......
MOVING!!!
Saturday, September 8, 2007 at 05:15PM Just a quick one to say i'm currently in the process of moving (sob!!) ..... I'm going to miss Chelsea; but i've outgrown my current space, so it's off to Marble Arch for me ("you're not exactly suffering"..I hear you say, and i will agree with you and just shut up about it).....it's a bit chaotic here at the moment and i may not be able to respond to phone calls until i get into my new place.... so only emails for the time being please.... everything should be connected pretty soon.....
NOTTING HILL CARNIVAL
Monday, September 3, 2007 at 05:34PM Last week, bank Holiday Monday saw me at the Notting Hill Carnival with my friend Enitan.... we rarely see each other even though we are both in London so it was great catching up ...... we met at High Street Kensington Tube where we bumped into other friends and then took it from there.......
A message from Paul Smith......

Enitan and friends we bumped into.....

The number of people at carnival could only be seen to be believed..... at this point, we could not move and we were starving!!!!..... we kept getting whiffs of Barbecued meat but could not move ....... I can't believe 10 minutes before this shot was taken we actually turned our noses up at several food stalls.....we said it didn't look 'tasty' enough.... well, let's just say there were a lot of 'maybe we should have bought it then' comments ......
When we finally got through the throng of people, we headed to oxford gardens with the help of the A-Z map. Why Oxford gardens? Well, it's where 'Obalende Suya' was based and any Nigerian worth their salt knows you don't pass up suya for nothing..... wherever there is suya, that's the unspoken meeting point for everyone..... yep!! we met up old school friends and in my case, met new ones as well through Enitan (this girl is walking 'little black book'......she knows everyone!!!)

A not so good picture of me, Bolanle (one of our schoolmate from Queen's College) and Enitan.....

The guys from London Nigerian Rugby Club pulling their best poses.....

Enitan and I with a lot of lens flare...but who cares right??!!....:) I had a great time but i don't know if I want to do it again next year.....we'll see

ANGELIQUE KIDJO: DJIN DJIN
Sunday, July 15, 2007 at 12:51PM I just got the new album from Angelique Kidjo called Djin Djin and i just had to blog about it..... absolutely fantastic!!! I have always loved Angelique's music but I think she comes full circle with this album. I particularly love this album as it reminds me of home (Nigeria), my parents, friends and family over there.... it's funny how even though the language is different, it still evokes the same feelings of home, feelings that a lot of us Africans here in the west tend to forget in our haste to be seen as 'westernized' (myself included) and not lumped in the same category as the negative stuff that one often hears about Africa.

songs like salala and djin djin remind me of those 'chill out' moments where everyone is just sprawled about on the carpet, sofa or whatever free space one can find; and talking (gossip if it's just us girls) relaxing and laughing about any and everything..... songs like mama golo papa as well as papa bring memories of those parties that go on 'til 4am in the morning with everyone eating and drinking way too much, dancing way too hard, flirting like hell and generally just having a good time in the way only we know how to (.......as if the world is coming to an end!)
check it out and enjoy!
FUSEMAIL: EMAIL HOSTING
Saturday, June 23, 2007 at 04:35PM As some of you know, I've been having problems with my email.....I have just moved over to fusemail email hosting..... here's hoping it works out better than my current system.... to everyone who has sent me emails but not received any response, I promise that i'm not the rude cow who can't be bothered to respond, it's just that i haven't received it..... can you please re-send your email...... thanks!!.
15 SECOND PITCH!!!
Wednesday, May 30, 2007 at 02:57PM As I was taking a break from doing my business accounts and browsing Laura Novak's blog, i came across the pitch wizard. For all you photographers and indeed business owners out there who tend to waffle when asked what you do and what benefits you can offer... (you know who you are...) this is for you....: 15 second pitch
If you're a bride or portrait parent reading this, you should look at this as a good thing (and not the fact that i'm trying to perfect my selling technique on you)...it means i'm not slacking off just 'cause i got the booking, i'm working hard to be that good customer service person everyone keeps telling you about :) ...... this of course means you can give me a call for that portrait shoot you've been thinking about doing for a while now.... !!!!
